SpR General Internal Medicine - UK

Medacs Healthcare is currently seeking to recruit a General Internal Medicine position for a large Trust based in Surrey.

Duties of the Post

The post holder will be part of the busy General Internal Medicine team providing consultant led acute patient care.The Acute General Medicine part of this job is busy with many learning opportunities. The successful applicant will be able to get involved in Respiratory Medicine or any other specialty.

Day to day care of all in-patients admitted to the Trust under the care of the firm. Participation in the General Medicine SpR on-call rota is expected. The SpR will also do Acute Medical Outpatient clinics with the Acute Physician and one Renal clinic with the Consultant Nephrologist. The SpR will be expected to supervise and support the junior members of the medical team with SpR ward rounds.

The University Hospitals NHS Trust is a large 768 bed acute Trust. It comprises two Acute Hospitals; a dedicated Children’s Hospital, Hospital for Children; Elective Orthopaedic Centre; one supporting hospital and a Private Patient Unit and provides services from a number of support hospitals.

The Trust provides services to local communities. Within this main area the Trust provides care for approximately 500,000 people. It also provides medical care for a wider population particularly for certain specialist services, including Renal, Paediatrics, Pathology and Orthopaedics.
