Management couple needed for English country pub
We are looking for a couple, one front of house manager and one chef to assist us in our start up operation of our country fine dining pub.
Based just outside of Canterbury in Kent we are aiming to offer unparalleled levels of service and food on a 7 day a week operation.
Ideally you will both be from a high end food and service background having trained formally at catering college or had extensive on the job training.
For the chef, you should live breath and dream food. It must be your life, have a passion to work with the best local and seasonal produce and want to present dishes in innovative and creative ways. Be happy to work hard and not mind long days in the kitchen. You will be expected to manage the kitchen in the head chefs absence, be happy to train junior members of the team, liaise with suppliers, create exciting daily specials and contribute to the changing seasonal menus.
For the front of house manager, you should want to exceed customer expectations, never promise more than you can deliver but deliver more than you have promised, have a fantastic knowledge of wine and be able to teach the junior members of the team everything you know. You will also be the liaison for our beverage suppliers so you will need to have knowledge of how to run a cellar or at least be happy to learn, put wine lists together and orchestrate in house events.
Along with our food operation we also have 4 letting rooms which the couple would be responsible for managing.
