2012 HTN Commercial Cookery Pre-Apprenticeship Program
HTN is running three “Pre-Apprenticeship” courses to launch 15 lucky applicants’ chef careers.
This opportunity is completely free – all training, equipment and fees are paid for.
The courses are short – 3 – 4 weeks including classroom, teaching kitchen time and real on the job experience.
The purpose of this course is to give participants a real advantage in starting a full time commercial cookery apprenticeship after this course (either immediately or soon afterwards).

This program is only open to Australian Citizens or residents.
This program is funded by the NSW Government by the NSW Department of Education and Communities.
In order to carry on to be a full apprentice chef, candidates must have:
· Impeccable hygiene and a professional presentation
· A passion for food and cooking
· A creative nature
· A desire to learn and work hard
· A general understanding of the hospitality industry and the apprenticeship scheme
· An acceptance of flexible hours
· A good attitude
· A work ethic of reliability, punctuality and good communication
In order to apply you must:
· Be available for the full course
· Have the ability and means to get to the course and workplace locations
· Have a serious interest in cookery and the desire to turn your passion into a career
· Attend an interview and short induction with HTN staff prior to the start of the course
