Head of ELICOS
Curriculum
· Managing and monitoring the implementation of ELICOS courses;
· Monitoring and supervising the on-going assessment and documentation of ELICOS curriculum;
· Implementing and managing curriculum review on a regular basis;
· Ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of the curriculum.
Staff Management
· Assisting in interview, selecting and the appointment of teaching staff and ensuring all meet ELICOS
qualification and experience requirements;
· Preparing an induction program for teaching staff;
· Assisting and advising teachers on the day-to-day delivery of the program;
· Monitoring documentation of daily teaching delivery of the program;
· Overseeing the writing of student reports;
· Writing job descriptions for staff members as required;
· Developing and managing a formal professional development program and providing regular
informal professional development training;
· Ensuring staff members are participating in extra curriculum activities;
· Conducting regular staff meetings to disseminate information and discuss curricula, assessment,
resources, student attendance and student satisfaction;
· Maintaining a list of available emergency teachers;
· Responsible for discipline of staff;
· Assisting in termination of an employee.
Resource Management
· Setting a budget for the Centre and allocating resources according the set budget;
· Monitoring and allocating the development of curriculum support materials.
Student Management
· Ensuring student academic performance is maximised;
· Managing and monitoring student English class level promotion process;
· Implementing necessary policies to improve student attendance;
· Responsible for discipline of students;
· Implementing strategies to motivate students learning and attendance;
· Student career counselling on a regular basis and run career sessions on a need basis;
· Preparing, implementing and assessing the effectiveness of the student orientation program on a regular basis;
· Interviewing and providing academic counselling for students;
· Ensuring prompt attention to student complaints;
· Conducting regular information sessions for new high school centre students in the ELICOS centre.
· Attending and initiating meetings and actioning the issues that arise from the meetings.
Perform any other tasks requested by the Centre management.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Registered Teacher with Victorian Institute of Teaching preferred;
TESOL qualification ie. Minimum Graduate Diploma in TESOL.
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
Minimum 5 yeasr ELICOS teaching or management experience.
SPECIFIC ANNUAL RESULTS TO BE ACHIEVED:
· Implementing continuous quality assurance initiatives;
· Ensuring student attendance is more than 90%;
· Ensuring students academic performance is maximised;
· Ensuring the effective and efficient organisation, management and delivery ELICOS centre;
· Maintaining the student numbers during the year and minimise number of students leaving the centre.

Daily Organisation
· Teaching classes on a regular basis and on a needs basis;
· Preparing and monitoring the weekly timetable;
· Responsible for designing and initiating new policies to improve the quality of ELICOS courses;
· Taking on extra classes when a teacher is absent;
· Initiating ideas to promote the centre to overseas and local markets;
· Writing documentations / policies when required;
· Registering Ozford English Language Centre with relevant authorities;
· Responsible for effective communication between, parents, students, staff and the Ozford community;
· Responsible for management of examination including timetabling exams;
· Participating and arranging extra curriculum activities for the centre;
· Implementing continuous quality assurance initiatives.
