Commercial Analyst - Business Development

An opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated and results driven individual to join our clients Business Development team as a Commercial Analyst. Based in the CBD, this is an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic team on strategic issues that support Business Development in: •Managing the performance of, and levering opportunities arising from, our associate businesses; •Identifying and developing major commercial opportunities that enhance member value; and •Supporting the organization’s strategic direction and assisting in business improvements. The main responsibilities will include: •assisting with periodic financial reporting and review on associate companies and preparation of Board and Excom papers; •conducting and coordinating analysis for projects and initiatives conducted by the Business Development team; •contributing to strategic initiatives by completing allocated tasks and projects on time and within budget; and •drawing insight from analysis and discussions with stakeholders to underpin the development of robust initiatives. The successful applicant must satisfy the following criteria: Essential: You will have demonstrated success in the interpretation and analysis of financial reports, business report writing, the use of analytical tools and research. A keen mind for problem solving, excellent attention to detail and outstanding communication skills are also required, as is an ability to lead analysis and influence stakeholders. It is essential that you are a team player. Experience and qualifications relevant to the role: •A tertiary qualification in a business related field, and •Solid experience working in roles that contributed to developing a thorough understanding of financial analyses, corporate finance principles, equity accounting, business modelling, discounted cash flow analysis and the business planning process. Location: CBD location with occasional travel to Noble Park. The hours of work will be: A flexible approach to working hours is required to ensure business requirements are met.
